5 concrete tips to make a beautiful kids' room
So how do we make this special room a room the child is proud of, and that they want to show? And a room that you think is pretty 😉
A joint project
Make the decoration of the kids room a joint project with your child
(of course according to age).
Sit down together and have a look at the colors, themes and posters your child likes. That makes the room extra special and it's a lot of fun to do it together!
Mix memories and interests
Choose posters from the child's memories and interests.
The room below might belong to a boy who loves the colors green and blue. Maybe he wants to be a diver, when he grows up. Maybe he has a bike like the one on the poster, loves to be in the zoo and is about to learn the alphabet.
Think in the same colour scales
If you want a harmonized look in the kids room, it's a good idea to choose colors in the same colour scale.
The room below might belong to a girl, who loves her tumble toys and teddy bears. She has made an inviting universe in green and rose colours. She got the poster with the two girls from her best friend and she has chosen the swimmer herself, because she loves to play in the ocean.
Match with furniture
Is it your plan to make a poster wall above the bed or the wardrobe?
Think of the colours and materials of the big furniture in the room. They often take a lot of space, so it gives a calm look if the frames are in the same material or colour.
Play with sizes and perspective
It gives a playful and cool expression if you use different poster sizes for your poster wall. Play with different sizes and let the posters hang staggered. (see example below)
